Taxis at your fingertips
Mar 27, 2009 - An East Coast company is rolling out technology in the Metroplex that allows consumers to hail taxis with their iPhones and BlackBerrys.<br /><br />Alexandria,Va.-based <a href="htttp://www.ridecharge.com">RideCharge</a> says those smart phones can connect directly to taxi dispatch and cashiering systems, and can receive updates about the car’s location, driver’s name and when the vehicle will arrive. After you’ve gotten the ride, you can pay with your phone, RideCharge says.<br /><br />According to RideCharge, BlackBerry users can access the service by sending an e-mail from those devices to get@ridecharge.com.
